The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup has been bringing together golfers, business leaders and distinguished guests at some of the world’s finest courses since 2013. This year, the UK leg of the series was held at The Grove Hotel Golf Club near Watford, one of the most prestigious venues on the golfing calendar.
Releeese was proud to be invited.
The Day
The tournament brought together an impressive field of amateur golfers, many of them CEOs and senior leaders from across different industries.
Among the guests on the day was former England striker Les Ferdinand, who took part as a competitor.
Prizes were presented by Mehmet Gurulkan, General Manager of Turkish Airlines London, who noted that five million of Europe’s ten million golfers are based in the UK, underlining the scale and significance of the event. The tournament concluded with a full awards ceremony and lunch, with Sam Burke taking the top honours on 40 points.
Alongside the tournament, we ran our own Nearest to the Pin challenge, giving players the chance to stop by, take a swing and discover Releeese for the first time. The challenge drew a strong crowd throughout the day, and the conversations that followed were exactly the kind we love having.
We were in good company. The event featured stands from some of the finest Turkish brands, including Hafiz Mustafa 1864, Karaca Home and Atelier Rebul. The standard of the day matched the standard of the company.
It was, by any measure, a brilliant day.
Two Chocolates. One Reaction Nobody Expected.
As players came through, we shared both bars. The milk and the dark both took centre stage, scoring very high points with everyone who stopped by. What made it memorable was the reaction. People who would not normally consider dark chocolate found themselves genuinely enjoying it, surprised by how smooth and sophisticated it was. And those who came straight for the dark left equally impressed by the milk. Both bars held their own and then some.
The Conversation Behind the Chocolate
Many of the players were health conscious, and that naturally led to questions about what made our chocolate different.
It opened up some great conversations about the importance of low GI sugars and the philosophy and science of Intelligent Sugar Expert Dr Coy.
