Releeese, an innovative new functional food brand backed by the scientific research of Dr Johannes Coy, has announced its UK debut with the launch of RELEEESE Chocolate – a premium milk chocolate bar crafted with a carefully selected blend of naturally derived, lower glycaemic sugars.
Made from Nature, Backed by Science, Releeese takes a genuinely different approach to sweetness. Rather than relying on conventional sucrose, every product is formulated using naturally derived sugars with a lower glycaemic index, some of which carry independently authorised EU and UK health claims. Releeese is the official licensee of the Intelligent Sugar Expert Dr Coy formulation, developed by Dr Johannes Coy and commercialised through Intelligent Sugar GmbH. Dr Coy is a German molecular biologist and cancer researcher best known for his discovery of the TKTL1 gene – a breakthrough in understanding how cells metabolise sugar and fuel growth. His research into TKTL1 and sugar metabolism led to the development of a unique approach to sugar formulation that underpins every Releeese product. The same gene was later identified as significant in Nobel Prize-winning evolutionary genetics research, further validating the importance of Dr Coy’s original discovery.

RELEEESE MILK CHOCOLATE (£29.99 for a box of 10): A rich and creamy chocolate bar and the world’s first to combine Tagatose and Galactose in a patented formulation, developed in partnership with Intelligent Sugar GmbH. Both sugars occur naturally in milk and carry a significantly lower glycaemic index than conventional sucrose – delivering the same indulgent taste with a more considered ingredient profile.
