Our story started with a group of friends who genuinely loved good food. We built our friendships around long evenings, stimulating conversation, and the kind of meals you never want to end. But as life got busier, work, stress, endless to-do lists, something changed. Meals became an afterthought. Snacking on autopilot became the norm. Food stopped being something we savoured and started being something we just got through the day with.
And we started to feel it. The afternoon slumps. The uncomfortable feeling after eating too much of the wrong things. The creeping sense that our choices were adding up. We started talking less about what we were eating and more about how we were feeling, and it wasn’t great.
Here’s the thing though. The problem was never that we loved food. It was the kind of food we kept reaching for, especially when life got stressful. The things that used to bring us together were leaving us feeling depleted.
We saw it as a choice between two paths: keep going and deal with the consequences, or completely overhaul the way we ate. And honestly? Neither felt right. We weren’t prepared to give up indulgence. We didn’t want food to become a chore or something to feel anxious about.
